Title: Map sensor Failure S3 1.8T, B6 2.7T
Post by: kubawd on May 28, 2020, 05:25:50 AM
Hello,
I come to you with my issue, which'd been bothering me for some time. It started one year ago, when i got my swapped B6 2.7 (K04 rs6 hybrid etc.) mapped by a local tuner. He also added Launch control and NLS. Car immediately started blowing map sensors when I used LC or NLS. Sometimes after 20th use, sometimes after 1st. We suspected a problem with the engine harness, however all grounds are ok. A few months and about 15 mapsensors later, we decided to remove lc and fs and take a closer look at the harness when the engine will be out. In the meantime, I started learning how to do some things with our ecus, finally getting to implementing LC. I did that in my second car, S3 8L 1.8T, me7.5. While I was testing the LC, it started acting strangely, revving on its own, not responding for the gas pedal. I plugged the Vag-Com and guess what... G31 and G71 implausible signal. Another mapsensor dead. I did not copy the script of LC from my B6, i think its some newer version, because it "bangs" a little bit different. In S3 I used the Snook's PDF with Setzi_v2 code. The only thing in common are the settings for IgnitionCutDuration(40ms), but i guess it's not that since(as far as i know) it refers only to NLS, not LC.
Codes in my S3 are:
16620 - Manifold Presure / Boost Sensor (G31): Implausible Signal
P0236 - 35-00 --
16490 - Manifold / Barometric Pressure Sensor (G71) / (F96): Implausible Sginal
P0106 - 35-00 --
Map sensor reads about  100mbar after it happens. Car is jerky, overfueled, doesn't want to boost. After replacing the mapsensor everything is alright, until LC or NLS is used.
Do you guys have an idea what may be the root of the problem? All help appreciated.
