Post by: aaronritchie on April 05, 2013, 05:26:36 AM
Does anyone know why i get this error ?    I am bench flashing a used ecu (bootmode flashed) I just want to read it to make sure its ok

ECU reports programming session preconditions have been met.
Negotiating communication timings.
Successfully changed to new communication timings.
Requesting security access.
ECU reports that security access request was rejected.
Starting diagnostic session.
Disconnecting because no response was received for the Tester Present message.
Disconnected
Reading ECU flash memory failed.
100% complete.
Restoring Windows sleep mode.

hey your going to have to post the more detailed log for us to figure it out

On the top of Nefmoto click File>Open Log File> Copy the Data from the day and time you were having trouble and paste it in here or save it to file and upload it.

is your eeprom immo-on?

if my understanding is right: nefmoto flasher doesn't have a chance to read flash memory if the immo not defeated.

cyril279, am I right?

If the ecu is installed in the car (Immo on), then Nefmoto CAN read the ecu just fine, because the ecu is able to communicate with the cluster, and all security issues are satisfied.

When the ECU is on the bench, without the ability to handshake with the cluster, I believe you will need to immo-off the ecu before Nefmoto will read or flash it.

Try fast init. Worked for me when I got that error.

It has immo off bin and is on the bench . Havent tried it in car yet as i just bootmode flashed it which worked fine.  I will try fast int. Thanks

I started getting this in car lately with my 032HS. Annoying to say the least... Cluster is obviously there. I have to take a number of attempts to read/write, but it works just fine when I do. Sometimes it will take 5-6 tries. The only thing that helps is turning the ignition on immediately before connecting, but it isn't consistently helpful.

I've been using slow init however. I'll try fast and see how it goes.

Friends I have the same issue, also I can't read the flash eeprom either. The scene is this:
FT232BL dump cable, 06A906032FN ME7.5 ecu on bench, AM29F800BB flash & layout selected, Immo defeated, have tested slow & fast init without luck. Inclusive ecu in boot mode is not responding, VCDS can recognize ECU easily and fast. Please help me. Attached left you my log.
