Title: EDC15/16 request
Post by: Rick on June 28, 2011, 12:34:40 PM
Trying to learn EDC 15/16.

Does anyone have any well defined map packs?

Rick

Do they contain the complete .bin as well?

.ols usually do, yes!

Ok,

why on the VAG EDC15V attached is the .bin only 32kb?

Because it's not a full read, it's a data only. ( Contains only maps )

For basic remap of TDI's is unnecessary damos files ...

Rick,

I've got some EDC16 A2L files that are a few megabytes. I can't assess the content because I don't have a version of WinOLS with a DAMOS plug-in and I can't upload them at the moment because I'm not near an internet connection, but I'll upload them when I get a chance.

EDIT: I also found some .OLS files with all the parameters fully-defined that looked authentic so I'll upload those too.

VAG diesel OLS files:

Did anyone check that edc16 Golf5 file?
I think there are many maps missing, already beginning with drivers wish...

Exactly, many maps are missing, like in many others OLS or DAMOS  files.

true...:(
first I thought they may have been imported with wrong offset, so that especially 3D maps are missing, but the .a2l files also seem to be stripped.

If you can hang on until the weekend, I will upload fully-defined OLS files for 3.0 TDi and 1.9 TDi engines. They look fine to me. Nobody has fed back that any OLS files I have previously made available have missing, corrupt or incorrect data. I would rather not post anything than post rubbish.

A funktionsrahmen for EDC would be useful of course.

most of the .ols in the internet come from a single source damos pack that came along with a hacked version of WINOLS and some strange ebay deals.

If you need EDC16/15 funktionsrahmen, PM.

I know the one you mean and I have that. It's rubbish. However, the OLS files I have were obtained from a more reliable source so, rest assured, I'm not reporting trash.

PM sent. Thanks.

I guess the 1.9 TDI is the Audi A4 ALH ols project lowting around. But I'm excited about the 3.0TDI ols....

O.k. then, try these. Please feed back if they appear authentic and/or useful.

The 3.0 TDi V6 .ols and .a2l come from the same folder so I presume they are the same definition just in different formats.

Regards.

I moved the EDC15 and EDC16 Funktionsrahmen into their own thread in the tuning section.

Yes. Ols and A2L are for the same binary.
But unfortunately all most important for tuning map descriptions are deleted from A2L file. :(

Are they present in the .OLS file?

No. Ols-file was created from the same A2L...

It depends where the a2l is from. If its from manufacturer they are complete. If they are from supplier, they are trimmed... This is because OEMs doesn't trust supplier and are afraid suppliers give a2l away - I can't understand that ;)

indeed I did not find a single un-garbled EDC16 .ols/.a2l/damos :(

Good! Glad to hear it!

Can someone explain about the different offsets and how to determine which offset your ECU uses?

Sorry, that file is not very useful. many maps missing and data in maps seems faked. Look at the SOI Maps. not a single ATFC value in the low load area....
there are better (but still uncomplete) edc16 ols files around.

Title: Re: EDC15/16 request
Post by: lulu2003 on November 24, 2011, 05:18:35 PM
as a rule of thumb you can say that a edc16 cr ols or damos should contain >9000-10.000 maps to be 90% complete. but ALWAYS most important 2 axis maps are missing or are zero data filled.
easy check: is driver's wish defined? any rail maps? torque limiter?

with a lot of patience, these incomplete damos files can help to find common areas, or GDTLs or Vmax 1x1 maps, if you compare many many damos and own ori's and cross check with funktionsrahmen.

You can't use offsets all time - most of sw not same with same addressing maybe start of file but not all.

For FREE is good - when you want full damos file with all bits in file you must pay for that.

we are talking about damos files being at least 6 years and older.
they should leak even if someone paid for them some years ago...

but nevertheless, they help and are better than nothing and with time you can guess by 99% what is in the missing areas.
