Title: Boost different 3rd/4th
Post by: spacey3 on May 05, 2015, 01:53:46 AM
Hiya guys, I've noticed that when doing logs in 3rd gear the boost doesn't quite meet requested. I thought this could be down to something to do with the PID (boost/rpm's rising too quickly) but I see that the wg is shut fully.

I primarily do my logs in 4th so I see real world egt's and high load and I haven't seen this issue in 4th gear.

I've attached a log with a 3rd gear then 4th gear pull where you can see the differences - where the actual/requested boost goes max it's ~22/23 psi.

Any ideas? Is this kind of thing normal and to be expected/is acceptable?

The car is a MK1 Seat LCR - K04 hybrid.

Just realised my log for 4th doesn't go up high enough to see that it's stable... It was very wet last night! So you'll just have to take my word for it, if I manage to get out and do some more logs later I'll get a full 4th if required.

ETA - just had a thought... D is going wild, I think my I is set too low (KFLDIMX/KFLDRL) and the PID can't catch and adjust quickly enough, that would explain D going nuts in the mid range at least wouldn't it?

In 4th it's much slower so it has time to react and bump it up.

Someone shout at me if I'm thinking incorrectly...

I know this thread is super old, but I have noticed the same kind of thing in my logs. Ever figure anything out??
