Title: Possible to disable LTFTs for long term fueling tuning?
Post by: nyet on August 25, 2011, 04:58:24 PM
While doing long term tuning, sometimes I wish there was a way to disable LTFTs so I can tweak fueling appropriately, w/o worrying about what is going on behind the scenes.

Does anybody know an easy way to disable LTFTs?

CFRA?

Edit : NOLRA might be a better fit.

it is for sure non functional on this file.

swap mlhfm and mlofs for m-box stuff and just try it.

Does anybody know an easy way to disable LTFTs?

 I just unplug the Evap solenoid.

VCDS -> 099 -> switch basic settings ON -> LR off -> LTFT off

it is a minor annoyance of mine as well. But I am wondering if completely disabling LTFTs is really worth it... I wish there was a way of doing this easily for WOT conditions only.

Anybody knows if LTFT load thresholds are in some map or is it in the code?

What I mean by that is that I know for a fact there are at least 4 different sets of LTFTs values that can can show in block 032 partial load depending on current engine load. While I am ok with LTFTs being active for lambda=1 condition, the ECU also extrapolates WOT (full load) LTFT value from lesser load LTFTs and uses it when WOTing affecting AFRs. This results in annoying situation where you tune your car for perfect WOT AFRs and then weeks later the AFRs drift off from target and you find LTFTs while WOT not being "0" but some other value.

Ha, now I understand why I don't have LTFTs anymore... No evap.

Are you referring to these?

Code:
fra2_w            ;{AdaptationPartialBank2}           ; {multiplikative Gemischkorrektur der Gemischadaption (Word) Bank 2}
fra_w             ;{AdaptationPartial}                ; {multiplikative Gemischkorrektur der Gemischadaption (Word)}

Are you referring to these?

Probably. For proper AFRs at WOT it would be a good idea to disable LTFTs for that load range.

NOLRA does not disable ltft's on ME7.5.

According to documentation:
The additive correction per time rkat_w calculated by the subfunction INTRKAT is multiplied by the factor N0/nmot (value
N0=640 rpm) and added to the additive correction per injection calculated by the subfunction INTRKAZ and then it is passed on
to the injection calculation (see mixture check %GK) as additive correction rka_w.

So i assume that by changing N0 == 0,  rkat_w == 0 so LFTF's are disabled.

What do your think of that? Do i miss something?

You need to disable rkaz too.

NOLRA can individually disable each range.

nyet, have you tested all of these?  i tried some and they were rejected...  i'll try again this evening after work.

yea, they all work for me.

Title: Re: Possible to disable LTFTs for long term fueling tuning?
Post by: professor on April 24, 2012, 01:43:42 PM
You need to disable rkaz too.

NOLRA can individually disable each range.
CDKVS == 0 no adaptive control is active (B_gaefra and B_gaeing are set to FALSE), cause RKAM (= RKAT resp. RKAZ) is never stabilized.
Correct or not?

Title: Re: Possible to disable LTFTs for long term fueling tuning?
Post by: professor on April 25, 2012, 12:09:34 PM
My work so far:

tried N0 == 0 (rkat_w == 0), CDKVS == 0, NOLRA == 0 or 2 (rkaz reset) or 5

None of the above, even with some combinations ( NOLRA == 2 && N0 == 0 or CDKVS == 0 && NOLRA == 5), disable LTFT's.
I unplug evap solenoid and LTFT's are working.

I am open to any usefull advise or route to examine  ;D

NOLRA == 5 to me without any other changes.

Nothing else and its good to go?  Great find man!  Can anyone verify this on their m-box setup?  I'll try if I get a moment this evening.

Hi,
I have a seat ibiza cupra 1,8 turbo 180hp and I need to disable LTFTs for long term fueling but I don't know the parameter "NOLRA".
I chipped this car with Alientech kit but I can't disable this...can you help me?? Thankssss!!!

Pull your SAI relay out.

Pull your SAI relay out.
Thanks! Today I found the norla parameter. In origin is set to 4, I can set it to 5 and zero but after flash the ecu the O2reg in 099 group is On and the ltft, after many km is -7. When arrived -24 the mil is on with low boost pressure...can you help me?

I'd be careful disabling LTFT if I had -24 corr and limp...

Hi,
can someone tell me how I can enable LTFTs with VCDS if disablet ?

VCDS -> 099 -> switch basic settings ON -> LR off -> LTFT off

I take it there are a few other selections taking place between VCDS -> 099 to disable LTFT.

Could someone fill in the other steps.  Looking at VCDS I am not seeing how this is performed.

Engine/basic settings - ch99
As soon you enter 99 Lambda regulation turns off.
This is simple way to check if injectors are setup properly at idle.
Needs wb02.
Cheers.

Tried using 099 but it didn't give the result I was anticipating.  It did show O2-Reg.OFF but when I switched to the measuring blocks to log STFT after a couple of minutes the LTFT started incrementing as normally after clearing DTC's.

I put 099 into the measuring blocks page to monitor the value and it only remained disabled for about 10 seconds before switching back to O2-Reg.ON.

Yeah, it is active only while you are in Basic settings and ch99 is activ.
It stops as soon you enter another ch.
It is good only to get en idea if you have tuned idle well.
Ie, you choose ch99 in Basic settings, have the car ideling and wb02 ON. If your fueling is perfect it should hold around 14.7.
If not, it will go either way.
Turn off, go back, adjust needed fueling maps. Do all over again.
This is just a check up if you dont have real time tuning tools
Cheers.
