As background, the executable is "ME7_EEPROM v1.40" Is the correct version to be using for the read? Just thought id add my 2cents from when i did this i did an immo 2 ecu from a 1.8t golf and was getting this: EEPROM Status: - VIN: XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX - SKC: 065535 - Immobiliser: On - Checksum: OK - Size: 512bytes - Cluster Code: 00 00 00 00 00 00 - P0601 DTC: not set - Immo ID: XXXXXXXXXXXXXX - Softcoding ID: 11500 so i was sweating a bit but took the gamble had to turn the baud rate up to max but all good :) its so much easier to knock up a bench loom than attempt it on the car imo. Would you please point me to a procedure/thread here for adapting new keys with the cluster? I have the following ingredients: 1) 95040.bin dump from the EEPROM 2) Full ECU dump 3) Working ECU and Cluster, Immo-2 style and already paired. 4) Vehicle VIN 5) One working key (already paired) 6) Two new keys ready for pairing 7) Immo-2 adaption procedure from Ross-Tech site. I need... a PIN and/or SKC to 'login' into the 'Instruments' controller with VCDS and do the adaption. Is there a way to do this? VAGTacho with HEX+CAN cable and VCP does not work. Can I obtain the information from the ECU dump? My goal of keeping the immo and matching new keys looks to be fading, I may need to wire up a bench harness and switch it off this weekend. Which means someone deleted your original 95040 or this is a replacement ecu. Since it cant be found on the 95040 the only other place it resides is in the cluster. What happened to the original 95040 file that came with the car? That would give you the info you need.
