Title: Immobilizer Simos 18 Golf 7 R Engine
Post by: Ano on March 01, 2016, 11:07:01 AM
Hello,
I`ve got a Problem with a Golf MK7 Engine in a  MK1 VW.
The Tuner which should take the immo off couldn't do it and we have got the immmobilizer problem.
Does somebody have done a immo off on Simos 18 and could help.
It shouldn`t be for free ;)
Or does somebody know what they have done in the Seat Cup ?

How are you going to load the file?

Title: Re: Immobilizer Simos 18 Golf 7 R Engine
Post by: ddillenger on March 01, 2016, 01:38:40 PM
CMD works on all but the newest ones.

INCA can Flash IT too

While immo (security) is active?

INCA can Flash IT too

CMD works on all but the newest ones.

Only if the immo is authenticated!
There is no boot mode on CMD on these afaik.

Yeah, I missed the whole "Immobilizer fucked" part.

This means no one has done immo off on this ecu. There is the Solution to buy the immo Box from a tt cup or seat but this is Not as easy as it sounds.

No one has done immo off for SIMOS so far. Good luck trying to flash with CMD when their "files" only contain scrambled code areas too.

yes it is a countermeasure for not beeing able to use the original files with other tools...Code is scrambled at the start of the file..

Why not keep cluster/ecu/key/engine combo

Title: Re: Immobilizer Simos 18 Golf 7 R Engine
Post by: Ano on March 05, 2016, 02:40:37 AM
If the engine was bought without Cluster key etc then There is no option.

Title: Re: Immobilizer Simos 18 Golf 7 R Engine
Post by: IamwhoIam on March 05, 2016, 08:10:22 AM
You still have the option to purchase ECU/cluster/key from a legit car, if your engine has non-legit origins.

What do you mean no option? Just have cluster/key/ecu syncd together by somebody with the proper tools :P

Not true, people with custom tools have.

But even then, to get it done initially (to flash the ECU) immo must be authenticated.
If immo is not authenticated and immo is on, how are you going to flash it in the first place?

Also, OP mentioned INCA - how are you going to flash an unsigned binary with INCA on an ECU that is not in development mode?

Basically, to even try to immo off anything you need:
1) An ECU with working immo authenticated with the cluster.
2) A custom tool (there is no public tool that you can buy that will allow you to modify code area)

And after that you need to get the software.

Thus this topic is irrelevant. Or as the ECU would say "pre-conditions not correct" ;)

If it has Immo4 system maybe this will help : http://www.smok.com.pl/index.php?lang=en&id=oferta&kategoria=2&produkt=147 (http://www.smok.com.pl/index.php?lang=en&id=oferta&kategoria=2&produkt=147)
But another question is if there is possibility to read CS and MAC ...

maybe time to start looking at custom management or buying ecu/clocks/keys

no way at this time IMMO5 is hard.

If there is anybody who can help, please let us know.

It would seem there is no way of doing this so far... I really don't want to have to use the clocks and keys from another car... I wonder if anyone can program the ECU in to my older VDO clocks and key rather than using the newer one...

For certain there is no immo off on simos 18 as yet.

Works great for Audi 5th Immo, Haven't tried on Golf R

Hi how can we try this on Siemos 18.1 ? That would be great if this will work.

Kompressed is correct.
It works only as a programmer for 5th immo.
No immo off function.

Could it be used to code old mk4 platform vdo clocks and keys to the immo 5 simos 18 ECU?

Title: Re:
Post by: Buzzard on July 04, 2016, 05:18:48 AM
I would think not as immo 4 is different to immo 5.

I think the best solution has already been mentioned, would be ecu and lockset, im unsure if you would need the new dash or not, it may work without but then again it may not.

How do you mean new dash? It should work with just clocks/keys (ignition barrel) and ECU? with the correct wiring loom too?

I hope so anyway... Will try to get hold of these once the engines in and mounted - it may be a few months before I am ready to try starting it anyway so fingers crossed for a solution soon.

Thanks

Well you may need instrument cluster and kessy  that goes with ecu and keys, thats worst case scenario everything is hooked into immo on 5th generation vag stuff.

It may be ok, there is not much info on simos 18 so I would think your breaking into fairly new ground. I really wish you the best on this project it will be a beast ;)

I think we are both still struggling with this and I do not want to result in getting hold of the ABS module/keys/clocks/can gateway and everything else that seems to be involved.

Wondering if I could run it from one of the earlier EA888 engines that use a Bosch ECU instead?

pm me whatever details pertain to the car and the exact issue.

I can do whatever needs to be done provided i have ecu or its contents (flash/etc) sent to me (but you must have tools to write it all back).

Do you have a flash tool that can do a full write of a modified file?
Until the answer to that is "no", stop wasting time.

I have a bricked one sitting around as well waiting for someone to pull out a boot method... Was killed by that greatest tool.

This video was posted previously but unless you see where is the harness connected or which components are involved you can not know for sure what he did or how and if this is the case i assume that by configuring the immo bytes in this ecu you will have the ability to flash again even if nothing is connected to it.. Then again i have also heard too that you could buy a seat cup racing ecu that does not need all those things and functions properly without immo or dash.

Hello,
the Seat CUP ECU still has an Immobilizer and a custom box for the immobilizer .....
You would never find a ECU without which you can buy.

Post by: MNZ on June 17, 2018, 01:33:27 PM
I have a VW Golf TCR here and we would love to be able to clone the original VWMS ECU and then run a second ECU with updated map. There is a "black box" that is listed in the factory catalogue that is EUR1500 and it simply tells you to contact Seat Sport. I presume this is the immob box.

I should maybe try plugging in a used Simos 18.1 and see if the vehicle starts with this immob box? I would like to be able to read the VMWS ECU however I am not confident without having a spare working unit....

Use Syvec and forget PITA with Simos 18 immo. CAN traffic more less same as Simos for integration.

Use Syvec and forget PITA with Simos 18 immo. CAN traffic more less same as Simos for integration.

Why would you spend $5000+ and need to retune a standalone ECU when you could spend a few hundred or less on a patch service and find someone with a bench tool or a tool that allows full write OBD (I hear CMD may allow this now but definitely bFlash or my open source tools), or spend $0 if you are decent at reversing to disable the immo lock entirely?

Even if you don't have a tool of your own or don't want to use open source, someone with a commercial bench tool shouldn't charge much for this and you could get away for a few hundred dollars all in.

Going to a standalone over this kind of thing might have made sense a few years ago, maybe, but with how well Simos18 is known these days, this seems like a huge waste of $.
