To get more accurate intake temp readings due to Turbo conversion i cut the wire in my MAF connector  "pin" #1 and connected it to an external IAT (G42) sensor from A4 B5. The sensor is relocated after the throttle body inside plenum. I can now se the new temp in VCDS. The sensor curve seems to match.

Wiring. G70 sensor > G42 sensor
G70 Pin#1 = Sensor signal
G70 Pin#3 = Ground

This specs should be match with the curve mapped in the ECU... I dont know where bosch placed all their calibration curves in the?

G42 specs:
-20°C 13,800 ohms
0°C 5,500 ohms
20°C 2,400 ohms
40°C 1,100 ohms
60°C 600 ohms
range is -48°C to +143°C

Now to the last thing.. What about LOAD calculation and other stuff that now will be affected. I suspect that I cannot simply just move this sensor and expect that sun will shine on me and the car will run great. Any ideas on what this could cause?

Enrichment by intake temp? = Bad economy?
LOAD calculations? = Will cause car to run poor?

I will test this today and see how the car performs.

The sun will shine on you and all will work normal, I have moved a many of IAT to their correct location and besides better timing control,
I noticed no real change.
I may even be a to dig up logs from a supercharger S6 to show pre and post.

You did it right, you figured this out on your own and you should feel good about that. Some big brand tuners didnt for a long time or still havent.

Nice to have answers when i get home from a late night att the street Smiley

Im back after tonights streetrace Roll Eyes.. I have tested this and the car feels almost the same as you mentioned but it feel more correct to unse the IAT in plenum... One thing that noticed was that is was a bit heat soaked after doing a run and then i think it was a bit warm in the plenum. Maybe it enriched a bit when cranking and warm intake..?  Its not 100% confirmed though.. I have alot of other thing goin on in this tune aswell..

I don't know about anyone else, but Daz told me to do it. As soon as he said it
a light bulb lite up in my head and I wondered why its not always this way, we had a
long talk about it. On a side note, R8 v8 have 2 mafs 2 ecus and need 2 intake air temp
sensors to relocated into the blower housing which is tight but can be done.
