Definition files for V8?
« on: June 27, 2016, 09:33:21 PM »
Ok noob here. So I sucessfully retreived the Bin file from my first ECU (I think) but there doesnt seem to be a definition file for it on here.
So what do I do now? Can I make my own definition file or is that like a first grader atempting calculus? Can I use an S4 ECU and add 2 more cylinders to it since there is a lot more info for that here?
It's a 4D0 907 558 S from a 2000 A6 4.2 and right now i'm just interested in learning the ropes in this ECU. Im not looking to do any crazy tuning on this car but would like to work my way up to that. Eventually I plan to put the 4.2 ART into a B5 because its so easy.
Also, i'm such a noob that i cant figure out how to post my Bin file.

the 4.2 is a terrible motor choice for tuning. Total dog. Waste of time and effort. The b5 2.7t is a far better motor in almost every way, why would you replace it with the 4.2?

You won't answer a few (probably simple to you) noob questions because you disagree with my engine choice?
I didnt replace it. I have two A6's with 4.2's stock(daily's). Then I have a B5 with a lunched 2.8 that I'm going to put the engine from a third 4.2 A6 in.

First things first. Post your bin. Click the "additional options" tab in the lower left.
