Need a binfile from a Volvo ECU that uses the 0 280 218 088 MAF-sensor.

My research so far has lead me to these candidate ECUs.
0261207712 ECU S60 -03 B5254T2 154kw
0261208289 ECU S60 -05 B5254T4
0261.........  ECU S60 -02 B5244T3
0261.........  ECU V70 -02 B5244T3
0261.........  ECU S80 -01 B6294S2

My plan is to use the 0280218088 MAF on my vag 1.8t, just need to transfer the MLHFM from the Volvo bin to my VAG 1.8t bin
Just need to find a valid bin-file first.

B5254T4 is wrong on that list. It uses even bigger HFM.

Be aware, that Volvo might use other startegy of aquire ML.
It can be done with MLOFS and without.

Also min/max Diagnostics, electronical diagnostics and so on needs to be transferred.

Be also aware, that Volvo uses different HFM connector than VAG.
If we use VAG, a plastic nose can be removed and it must be turned and repinned.
I don't know if it all works in the other direction (Volvo -> VAG).

Files for other engine codes can be found in Volvo ME7 thread, although they might not be the correct ones for that HFM too.

Volvo uses same Bosch Number of Ecu for different engines and chassis, don't use that to get further.

If you know the maximum ML (airflow) you are looking for, it might be a better strategy to search the files you can obtain for that max value.

Yeah the B5254T4 didn't feel right, thanks.

Anyhow i'm aware that there might be a non-zero MLOFS in the Volvo file and the connector is different too, apart from that it shouldn't be that much difference to a VAG HFM.

I've done quite a few hours digging trying to find a bin with no luck so far, there must be someone out there with better luck than me.

I could just get me an ebay TT225 MAF 0 280 218 065 it would suit my needs just right, but since i happen to have 2 brand new Volvo MAFs just sitting on my desk at the moment i thought i might try them first...

So what is your indicator of 'having no luck'?
What are you looking for in the file?
Which max HFM Flow do you seek?

Basically, Volvo uses only two HFM Sizes on ME7.
So you will most likely find always the same curve, expect for late 6 Cylinder Turbos or the B5254T4 / B5244T5 Engine.

Then there is a difference for the smaller HFM: using separate Temperature sensor or integrated HFM Temperature Sensor. That's why there are different part numbers used.

I have nearly 200 different Volvo ME7 Bins, didn't saw anything else.

There is also a difference when the Software is using MLOFS or not using it, but it leads to the same curve if taken into account.

No luck, well i've had a hard time finding a binfile that i know for sure uses the 0280218088 MAF, i know there are plenty of them but i need to be damn sure about it, no guessing here.

I've made a tool that finds and extracts the MLHFM in ME7 files so no worrys about that. :-)

Max flow, well 1200-1300 kg/hr ish, a 70-75mm MAF would do just fine, aiming at 300+ hp for now...

If you could point me to a bin-file with a known MLOFS and if possible paired with a a2l/damos or similar you would make my day!

The internal temp-sensor is to my understanding not used in my application so i can use either type of AFM.

Ok, what did i try to say?

0280218088 has almost the same Diameter than the older Volvo ME7 Standard MAF.
The curve of MLHFM for 0280218088 is almost the same. It Ends at about 1200 Kg/h without MLOFS substracted.
The actual mass flow of the old MAF is around 930 Kg/h, your newer 0280218088 MAF is ending at around 1020 Kg/h.

One Bin which has the newer MAF is for B5254T2 engine with 210 Hp.

I have attached the file from the Volvo ME7 Thread here - its impossible for me to find the entry in the thread Wink

Ok many thanks!

Do you have the Bosch ECU number for that file?
What about the MLOFS, i assume it's 200 in that file?

MLHFM is at (0x157b2), lowest value is 1462 and highest value is 12210 in your file.
So ((1221 - 200)*1000)/3600/0.8=354 hp ish, just perfect for my goals at the moment.

Yes, MLOFS = 200 Kg/h

As i said, ecu number is not important, this bin can be found in at least three different Bosch ecus (with different ecu numbers). Concept is little different compared to VAG.

Good.Luck.

Daniel2345, do you happen to have the pinout of the Volvo AFMs?
