flashed original file from 8E0909518P now have DTC P1612 -004

Hi
As explained in the subject, found an orginal file for my ECU flash was successful and car is running but I have a persistent DTC now P1612 - 004 --- 18020 Engine Control Module Incorrectly coded? Anyway too fix this?

ok looks like I have too recode
C0,Engine control module coding
XX000 - Country/emission
00= . 01= . 02= . 03= . 04=EU2/D3. 05=EU3/norm. 06=USA . 07= . 11=EU4. 26= .
00X00 - Drive/additional functions
0=Front wheel drive w/out TCS ESP.
2=Four wheel drive w/out TCS ESP.
5=Front wheel drive with TCS ESP.
7=Four wheel drive with TCS ESP.
000X0 - Gearbox
0=5 speed HS.
3=Auto 01N.
5=Auto 01V (Tiptronic).
0000X - Vehicle type
1=B class (e.g. Passat/Audi A4).

Pretty sure I had exactly the same problem when I flashed my 8E0909518L. Happen to me about 3 weeks ago..
Only way I found to get around it was to reflash the 95040 with a spare copy of the bin file. Worked perfectly after that , so I would say your 95040 chip has corrupted somewhere along the way.
Funny how the ecu model has the same fault.

tried too recode the engine control module using vag com and it would accept the new soft code value but it would not be retained? in vag com the soft code under the "01 - engine" is a value of 4001 now I should be able too change that value to 6501 as per above... but its not working
also if I have a look at other info regarding my vin number etc its all N/A do I have reprogram all of that?

fixed the coding issue, it was my version of vcds used a newer version wuith another cable and it fixed the DTC no problem.
