Hey guys, I've been working on building a stage 1-2 tune for my 2003 1.8t AMB which is mated with a tiptronic, unfortunately. A little tip for everyone... don't fall victim of listening to your wife/girlfriend wanting you to get an auto trans, unless you're into kicking yourself in the nuts. Anyways, I do logs in 2nd gear because I want to keep my license and it rarely stays at requested boost. The weird thing is whenever I get on it in 3rd gear the boost holds perfectly every time at 18 psi or so until about 4500 rpm. I know the little k03s can hold boost at 18 psi in 2nd because two years ago I had the infamous "diode mod" and with a MBC I could make the boost stay at 18 psi until about 4500 rpm. I've been studying boost PID tuning, but I'm now at a loss for direction in that area. It seems like the turbo is simply running out of steam in 2nd, but why would it hold so well in 3rd if it was hardware related? Is this common? I've looked over the entire turbo system and have done multiple boost leak tests and everything seems great. I have a new diverter valve and I also have 550cc ev14s. Has anyone with a TIP messed with NASNOTKL, because I can't find any info on how to get this map. I'm using the stock KFZW map until I get the boost dialed in to try and help eliminate knock intervention. What would I log to monitor transmission torque intervention? Why would boost not build in 2nd like it does in 3rd and 4th. Seems to me like transmission torque intervention... Any help is much appreciated!
