Hello. I have a 2003 allroad 2.7 6spd. manual. It has O.CT tuning sticker on ecu. I have some recurring dtc's 16985 check sum error, 17866 and 17862 for exhaust temp short to ground both banks, and 17869 exhaust temp regulation. I read a few posts about the 16985 code that said some tuners do this to keep you out of there programming. I didn't want to try reading the ecu till I was sure that O.CT didn't do anything that I would screw up by reading it. Also I have gone through the test procedures from Bentley manual to check egt sensors, it tested good Bentley says replace ecu. Would I run into any problems if I try to eliminate the egt sensors. Thanks for any suggestions or advice.

It isn't that i want use there file I just assume I have to start with what I have. I'm definitly not looking to steal someone else's work.  I can probably get the stock map from my son's car it is the same car but 2004 instead of 2003. Thats probably a better place to start from anyway. Thanks for your time.

I too am wondering since I need to flash over there tuned ECU to a new file. Is there any issues just bootmode flashing over there software?

And I mean erasing... not saving and moving onto a new ecu. Same ecu just needs code outs. Assume they don't allow you to make any changes there file I will just make a Stage 2 with required code outs.

No, unless they made physical changes to the ECU (e.g. added a riser card)
