Hello everyone,

Hopefully someone can chime in here and give me a hand. I have a friend with a 2001 A4 1.8t we converted auto to manual. All works good but wanted to add nls/lc but car has not clutch switch, had it running off brake switch for a bit. We installed clutch switch today, but lc does not work. Curious which switch b_kuppl uses, I am assuming its the cruise switch which is what we hooked up to pin 39 in ecu. If it is the other clutch switch(start inhibitor), please help as i dont see where it goes to the ecu anywhere. I appologize if this is in wrong section. Thx for any help, love this forum.

i know on my car i jumped the start switch on the clutch pedal so i can just lean in and start my car and my nls/lc works as it should

just as you answered your own question it is the start inhibitor

make sure you have the pin coming from ecu pin #39 going to the (black/green) wire on the clutch switch and take the other clutch switch wire (black/yellow) and tapping it into the brake light switch wire (black/blue).
hope i can help
make sure to get back to tell us your progression

and from my understanding you only need to supply 12v to the clutch switch pin hence why you tap it into the brake pedal switch
or i suppose you can run a wire to a switched 12 v fuse

That is exactly how it is installed. So pin 39 receives power when clutch is not engaged and open when clutch engaged. We even checked to make sure it operates correctly right at the ecu connector. I think I should go back and recheck the tune. Thx again for clarifying I got the info I was looking for.

CWKONFZ_1 +1 (make sure it's even).
OR correct ECU coding, if it's "recodeable" for AT/MT.
