Hello peeps.
I have a MK4 Golf GTi 2002, i got a tune for it, added 2step, and it worked fine, tried that same ECU on a friend's jetta and it worked fine,
tried it on a 2004 GLI jetta and it didn't work no matter what i did, (clear codes, adapt TB, etc)
the tune works fine, engine pulls strong, but i couldn't make the 2step to work, it throws no codes, everything's working fine.

Same thing happened to me before with a different ECU, tried it on a different car (also an 2004 GLI jetta) and it didn't work.

clutch pedal switches and speedo are working.

I know i should be modifying the map for each car/ecu  but i was just curious about why 2step works in some and it doesn't in others.
Is there something about GLI jettas?

I have made a few full 1.8t engine swaps, so i know the engine wiring harness is the same, so there's gotta be something else.
Both my GTi and jetta wagon were VR6 when i got them, 1.8t swapped them both, 2step works fine...

so wth...
anyone got a clue?

cheers
Art.

Meaning, what, exactly. Be specific.

They're asking what method you used.

thanks.
i used the 2step & Antilag Auto Add Script

i had even tried this on unmodified tunes and it works, there's just something about 2004 GLI jettas tho, it doesn't work all the time...

Maybe list the ecu ID's it worked on, the the one(s) it didn't. Can also post the one it's not working on after running the script.

I should remove it if people are going to blindly use it and not just use it as a reference for doing their own ASM work.

I mean, tbh, if the script is there, why can't people use it?  In that case - why does it exist at all if you're going to do it yourself with ASM.

Honestly, who is capable of that?  Maybe 8? people on this forum.

This is why I want to just delete the script post, or put it on github somewhere.

I think you all may have misread the OP's post.   It sounds like he used the same physical ecu on each car, and in some it worked and others it didn't.  If that's the case, engine temp or clutch switch.
