Hello, trying to recode (07-coding in VCDS) replacement FWD ecu to AWD (replacement ecu is 11500 , original narrowband ecu has 05610).  Tried simply throught VCDS, but ecu still boot back with unchanged coding (11500).  Tried change coding in eeprom and flashed it in bootmode, coding still unchanged. Set vardef in 1mb file , also nothing happend. What im doing wrong?

I changed mine directly on EEPROM. It worked fine. Done a lot of research to find the location, then checksum...

So the 16bit values at 7A and 8A  are not the right ones?

When i change them, flash(i hope for automatic checksum by Ktag), i think some DTC about eeprom rised(=> maybe wrong checksum?), but i can clear it by VCDS. When i read it eeprom again, there is back the 11500 coding. Like something code it back Smiley

make your changes > checksum using the eeprom tools on here not ktag > flash in bootmode
best bet is to not use (im assuming your fake) ktag and use the 5$ ftdi cable

I tried today. Set immo off + vin + softcoding from original ecu by 95040tool. Says checksum ok.  Flashed without automatic checksumming (and read back to prove no changes was made during writing). Ecu now showed 00001 coding, so something not right. And after 20km of driving, got P0601 DTC and no start. I read it back, 95040tool still say checksum ok, but P0601 "set to 33 33". So what i did wrong?

Can i softcode to euro2 the newer ecu which came as euro 4?

With simple immo off it works ok. Ecu is 06A906032HN 0002 sw363908. No deathcode present, if looking right.

post your immo file and the data you want changed on it. also post the original immo file
ie. the vin and soft coding

Here are the files.  Vin change is not important, i just used it, as 95040tool offer it. Softcoding, i would like to change to say to 11610(to stay euro4 as donor ecu already is).

EDIT: managed to make 11610 coding , i just used working immooff file, changed coding, not touch VIN, make checksum by 95040sum and flashed by ktag with autochecksum again(same asi im flashing just immooff). Will report after few days.

i don't have much experience with ktag at all so i would say spend the 5$ for the correct ftdi cable and resolve all of your headaches

if you are checksumming with the 95040 tool dont use auto checksum in ktag
no point to
seems you know what to do

IMO don't use ktag. use the regular ftdi cable that is 5$ and flash in bootmode.
here is your file. it is your ori w/ immo off softcoding to 05610 and nothing else changed. it is checksummed and ready to flash.
if you want immo on you can ask me to re upload or just do it yourself
