How does Me7 Request/limit Airmass?
« on: February 12, 2019, 08:52:44 AM »
Hello Nefmoto. Im coming straight from tuning saabs, one 9-5 2.0t From 150 to 270 hp and a 9000 2.3t to 250 hp. So i have some experiance with tuning saabs using T5 and T7 Suite.
In T7 the driver requests airmass with the pedal through the pedalrequestmap. Then the requested airmass/torque goes through a few limiting maps that limits the requested torque. This is what you raise to request more airmass from the engine. Maps such as torquelimMANtab or aut bstknkairmasstab, 5thgearlimtab ETC.
This resulting airmass then is sent out as input to the rest of the system to control the engine with the help of PID boost controller and throttle control to meet the requested torque.
My question is how does this work in me7. What are the equivalent maps or limiters in me7? Can someone experianced shed some light on this.
Does it work quite in a similar way as T7 or totally different?

Start with the ME7 tuning wiki page. Have you read any of it yet?

I know i read some of it about a year ago, but i forgot about it. Now i have read some under "Specifying requested boost"... Confusing how there are several ways/routes to the same thing in Me7, like how there are different maps limiting specified torque, whichever is lowest and they all go though different calculations. Some compensate for temperature etc and others don't.
