Just used HxD to compare to a stock file and they are identical.
This confuses me as my car is now running teribbly and I had thought I must have changed some setting by accident.
Got a xtool vag401, and after testing solenoids (actuator test evap etc including injectors and cam adjusters) it sounds awful.

Popped off cam covers and all seems okay, but need to get VCDs to check MVB 90 in engine electrics.

Told it could be flooding and the waste spark causing issues, but suspect stuck VVT adjusters.

please advise if you have experienced this before.

pointless to guess w/o posting DTCs and logs.

Also, there are many other well defined 551 files that are cross flashable with your ecu.

No engine DTCs. And new to logging, shall read guides....
Thanks

Ok, in Nefmoto program, have read that some people choose to monitor variables which are not helpful in diagnosing. On KWP2000 logging tab can't see any options for me to fiddle with, (probably a good thing considering my present situation!!).

need definition file for logging... took me a while to figure that one out..
I have A6 C5 2.7T with 4B0907551G, can I use these defs: http://files.s4wiki.com/defs/ just the 8D0907551G. got *.csv & *.xdf

Can't find guide for logging. logging needs definitions *.xml or *.ecu & read variables *.xml

1) next time you post, obey forum rules
http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=5549.0
Moved post out of request section.

2) don't use nef for logging, it is for flashing
https://s4wiki.com/wiki/Tuning#Logging_utilities

3) There are plenty of logging guides
In fact, the above references this
http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=4830.0title=
4) you can't use that xdf with your binary, you'll have to cross flash the matching binary

If you cross flash, you can also use M-box which is well defined and documented on how to tune, but you will lose IMMO if your car has it now.

Sorry, in state of panic as car running perfectly a few days ago, after cam belt failure re-build, and now like bricks in a cement mixer. Huh

--edit--
There was a reason my nickname was 'Double Lucky Leo'...
Turns out the 'actuator test' must have found a sticky cam adjuster or two, causing the timing chain to skip....... causing the timing to be out.....then the beautiful marriage between valves and pistons.... YEAY!!
On the plus side, this was what I was repairing it from anyway. Bought for £200 with cam belt failure. Lets hope, as it was just a cranking whack, that i don't need to pul the engine again.
Live and learn, check movement of cam adjusters and don't test them if it's running well.

Cylinder 4 & a not so super, bosch super 4...
