Good afternoon all,

So I'm a complete N00b when it comes to the VAG group stuff (having been an MS43 home fiddler), so I'm attempting to learn what I can.

So far I have managed to get VCDS + relevant cable working, as well as reading the ECU using an FTDI OBD cable using NefMoto software which is good steady progress.

me7check v1.12 (c) mki, 06/2004-05/2012
Checking file c:\Users\Manager\Documents\Original Red Leon Map.bin (size=1048576)
Reading Version Strings...
-> Bootrom Version = 05.12
-> EPK = 40/1/ME7.5/5/4019.02//24C/Dst02o/220202//
-> Contents of ECUID data table:
   - '0261207440'         (SSECUHN)
   - '1037363908'         (SSECUSN)
   - '06A906032HN '       (VAG part number)
   - '0002'               (VAG sw number)
   - '1.8L R4/5VT     '   (engine id)
-> Contents of ECUID data table:
   - 'HW_MAN004'

-> No errors found. File is OK.   *********************

A bit of research lead me to finding an XDF file for the 32HN (obviously all in german, but I shall work my way through it)

My plan of attack is as follows.

1. Code out the 2nd cat sensor (this is a wideband pre-cat followed by a narrowband post-cat), as we have fitted a decat and downpipe
2. Work out some logging for the hybrid KS04 turbo that we have in a box ready for it
3. Adjust injector scaling to deal with the 550cc injectors.

If anyone has any guidance or pointers, I would definitely be grateful.

Thanks

are these bosch 550's or another brand? you can find the data for them and do tvub and the calculation for krkte whether you are 3 or 4 bar regulator to at least make it run correctly.

1. Edit ESKONF & Config bits & delete DTC
2. Bring up limits, modify torque maps. Log Pressure at fixed duty and create new map pressure vs rpm. Maybe need work with pid maps.
3. Set injector scaling, voltage correction map, minimal pulse, create new correction map ms vs rpm. Maybe need to work with tip in/out maps, warming maps, crancking maps.

Is not simple as I say. Alot more could be to do.

Is the file totally stock?  If you upload it I can check and can always do it for you this afternoon.

Much appreciated for the offers.  Just spotted this thread and I rudely didn't reply.

So we had the car mapped and these is a thread on that is onging, but suffice to say have taken the desciion to have a go doing it ourselves.  Been spending the last week or so researching and making notes.  Taken onboard the advice from a few about starting from scratch, and sensibly before it went for mapping I grabbed the stock file, so have a good base.

Been writing a custom XDF based up the recommended one here, with tables of ESKONF, categories for the relevant items such as MAF, injectors etc as I do them.

First attempt will be
1. injector scaling
2. MAF scaling
3. SAI delete bits
4. Cat delete but not o2 sensor as I'd like to keep that in if can be.

I will post up for a sanity check when done if someone wouldn't mind Smiley
