Bump - Anyone got any ideas?

Noticed that the overboost is still there, seems a lot more controlled tho. One of the maps seems to have reeled it in a bit, and the other has bought it back again. Gonna tweak one to 50% and see the difference then go from there. Will be handy to see how they react on the car.

KFLDRL should be left std unless you are exceeding the MAP limit.

I don't know if it's any help but the vrx k04 is very similar to the hybrid s3 turbos. These produce boost around 3k incredibly quickly so guess its very Easy to over shoot. Also I found I had to reduce kfldrl down to around 10% in order to open the wastegate and control boost successfully at wot it was set at about 50 opposed to being 95% on a stick actuator.

But I will say I ended up running an MBC in parallel to cap the spikes as I haven't managed to curb them.

Is there a limit to how many times you can map an ECU?

Theoretically yes, the IC supplier (of an MCU/Eeprom etc) often specifies a minimum or typical number of flashes.
Practically though... The number of programming sequences allowed is usually far more than you would ever need.

All I'd say is go with rick! I trust him more than myself, I'm only going on my own experience where as rick is the pro.

I know for sure though I had to adjust kfldrl when I fitted an uprated actuator the cracking pressure is more so you need less dc to open it.

I have made a comparison of different KFLDRL maps for Z20Lex. It looks like S2.5 uses stronger actuator on VXR turbo. Take a look, it can help You with mods. Added LDRXN comparison too...

You need to re-do your entire KFLDRL map if you changed to a stronger wastegate.
You also need to make sure that requested boost is not lower than the boost provided by the wastegate at any point.

Read this topic, on how to properly configure it from scratch:
http://www.nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=517.10

Until you do this, your boost control will be all over the place.
