	Old car new ECU? « on: October 14, 2012, 01:22:11 AM »

I have an old A3 1.8t awd, 150 Hp from 2000 with 230000 km on it.
Read out eeprom and flash, Work's like charm and yes its tuned.

Since im new to tuning but used to IDA and Software Reverse Eng.

Some questions, please give me some feed back.

The car has ME 7.1 can I change the ECU to ME 7.5?
What more do I need to change to get it to work?

What will I gain if I change ECU?

If I connect hi&low can to ODB will that give me some advantages?

Sorry if for my English, native Swedish.

There is no ME7.1 on 1.8T AFAIK.
1.8T ECU's are ME7.5.

IIRC, the 1.8t narrowband to wideband swap is pretty common.

Your binary is ME7.5, as I said.

Even with 512k there is enough free space, you will not run out.
