Hi Nefmoto community.

I have an issue with a MED9 Seat Leon Cupra, which sometimes "rolls" in the RPM around idle when clucthing out and coasting to a intersection for example. Sometimes, it even dies, and needs to be restarted again. I have seen this on 2 MED9's now, both with VIS Motorsport BSD (Balance Shaft Delete) Could this be the reason? Else similar setup on both cars:

Hybrid turbo (TTE420 ish)
Performance intercooler
3" catless downpipe
Upgrade HPFP
Large induction kit
VIS Motorsport BSD
RS4 PRV

and so on. Both cars just shy of 400 HP.

What could it be? Like i said, im suspecting te Balance shaft delete, and missing engine inertia thereof, but could there be anything else? If it is the VIS Motorsport BSD, then what can be done to counteract this issue? Idle control?

Thank you very much for your reply.

It can probably be the tune as well, so you could be right.

The 400 HP car is running 150 bar RP at the moment with a 170 bar PRV.

What would you suspect causing the error tuning wise?

Kind regards.

Well, not much help here i can see.

Anyways, i solved the issue myself. It turns out, that my camshaft tuning had been too aggressive, and that caused the RPM to drop below what was good when clutching out.

After som slight adjustments, everything was fine.

Final result; 402 HP and 534 NM on 100 RON only. That'll do i think.

What caused the car to stall was not tuning the idle pid and fuel resume while modifying cams. This is trivial.
Also your thread is a giant waste of time, not a single log or file posted.

The problem was from the start the tune. But it seems like you aren't tuning it yourself.
Or if you do, why would you make a post without a single log? What do you expect to accomplish?

Giant waste of time? I left the solution to my problem here, so that anyone with similar symptoms hopefully could get the pointers they need, or at least get an idea.

Now you come here and are insulting, just because i havent added any logs. And out of that you conclude, that im not tuning it myself? This is even below your level mr. prj.

And i actually had great respect for you, and for what you contribute with in here, but certainly not for this behavior you show here.

I have indeed tuned the car myself. 22 dyno runs on my own dyno. +30 logs. But sometimes, even the best of us encounter issues and stare themselves blind on the solution.

Maybe it says "Newbie" next to my name, but that certainly doesnt mean I'm new in the game.
And if your next answer is going to be offensive or prejudiceful again, then please dont even bother to write an answer at all.

I think this part here might have been one of your issues “Well, not much help here i can see.”.  It sounds very douche like.  It insults everyone who tries to help you.  People are only as good as the information they receive.  And if you don’t give them enough information  then say “oh well look at me I solved it on my own with no help from anyone else I guess you all stink then etc etc”.  Comes off as arrogant and rude.  You should apologize, because one the rudeness and two people might be able to help you in future.  There won’t be any chance of that if you’re going to be a douche to them.

Blah blah blah.
Super tuner, who does not know how to tune idle PID.
Yes, you moved cams back for less overlap on idle, to cover for your lack of knowledge about calibration. But MED9 is more than capable to hold the idle even with silly cams.
Would probably take me 5 minutes to sort your idle even with silly overlap. What does that say about your tune?

As I said before. The problem was from the start the tune.
And yes threads without any logs are utterly useless. Btw read the stickies for starters, especially this one:
http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=12361.0title=

Also, I don't care what you or anyone else thinks of me. You seem to be very convinced that this is somehow important.
You come to the forum, break the rules, and then talk shit when pointed out. That's a pretty good start.

Instead of screwing with the cams the fuel resume could have been set 200 rpm earlier and the P of the PID bumped and the problem would have disappeared.
