Hi,

I've been attempted to get an A3 cluster powered up on the bench (8P0920981F) but I'm struggling to get my head around the wiring. I have a CANanylst-ii CAN to USB tool but I don't understand how it's meant to be wired.

On the dash you have CAN H & L on pins 29 & 30 which I assumed went to the CANusb but CAN wakeup line is on pin 5 of the dash which I guess is where the signal needs to be sent but not sure how to wire it?

You get this software with CANalyst-II device

I never worked with 8P, but on B6/B7 you receive some data from cluster on CAN lines

Yes it's just software that came with the device.

Not receiving anything but I guess it's because the cluster needs to be woken up first on the wake up pin 5?

You have gateway connected? Maybe try to send the frames on Convienence CAN. Are you sure the frame is correct?

I had no problem with starting A6 C6 cluster on table with can frames , I never tried A3 8P with can frame because I had a setup with bordnetz and gateway - if I will find some time I will try to start it using can frames.

Are you sure with the message you send? Normally it´s 07 07 00 00 00. Check also your CAN termination, maybe you need to add a resistor if cluster and tool does not have inside.

I never could get software for the one i bought. took me to some website which would never give me download link. you have link for software. mine is just sitting in the box since i bought another tool.
