After reading up in the S4 Wiki and I found that you can manipulate the maps for left foot braking.
 The Wiki says to change either of the 2:
NWPMBBR - Minimum RPM for acc pedal value lockout on brake operation
VWPMBBR - Minimum speed for acc pedal value lockout on brake operation

In what situations would one be better than the other?

Why not just max both out and be done with it?

i think that these maps must left alone except from racing conditions cause it's a safety made from bosch in case of the electrical throtle has problems.

Just watched a video on youtube about this... fairly interesting... does this mean audi "invented" the shift lock that is on most if not all automatic cars today?

Not sure. All I know is that this feature, plus the idiotic pedal positioning in audis are due to that deplorable set of yellow journalism.

Not just Audi's, the pedals in my GTI are the same way. I thought about putting a pad of somesort on the accelerator pedal to make it more "even" with the face of the brake pedal. This would make it way easier to heel/toe the brakes and gas.  When I put my heel on the brake it's almost impossible to press the gas in a way that I can downshift. It's way awkward.. I find myself reving the engine just before I brake to try to catch the gear..again awkward and is why I wanna get rid of this stupidness. Also in a situation where I need to hit the brake fast, I have to lift my foot way off the gas or the side of my foot hits the side of the brake pedal...so annoying.

No one has anwsered my questions still..     Sad

I gotcha but what about the second question? If I max both out am I going to run into problems? Can it only be one or the other?
