Hello, I’m in the process of swapping in a 2.7t into a Boxster. It is now running/driving on a base tune and I’m turning the corner to tuning per the specifics of the build. I’d like to utilize CAN for feeding vehicle speed from the Boxster cluster to the Audi ECU. I understand I need to set CWGGVFZG=1, but I don’t know where it is located. Does anyone have this location?

By comparing it to the 551F  bin.. It looks to be at 0x109C6

Resurrecting this thread with additional related content. I’ve had a 2.7t running on a tuned 8D0907551M file in a Boxster for a couple years now. Thanks to all that have contributed to this forum as I’ve learned so much.

The new question is regarding vehicle speed signals into a 8D0907551M. For the last couple of years, I’ve relied on a wired pulsed signal feeding the ecu but there are reasons why this is not a good solution for my application… sending over CAN would be greatly preferred.

From the FR, setting CWGGVFZG bit 0 (CWGGVFZG=1) we should expect to take vehicle speed from vfzgkb_w over CAN from the cluster (Kombi 1)… alternatively if we set bit 1 (CWGGVFZG=2) we should expect to take vehicle speed from vamsr_w over CAN from abs (Bremse 1).  The problem is that I haven’t been able to get either of these CAN methods to work and am thinking that this functionality is not present in this file.  Also, I’ve made sure to set CW_CAN_R appropriately. Everything I’ve tried results in the wired/pulsed signal being the only source for VS.

Has anyone used VSS over CAN in a 8D0907551M file? Is there anything else that needs to be set to enable incoming CAN signals?

You use wrong definition.
CWGGVFZG isn't at addr 0x109C6.
Right place is at 0x10005

gremlin - YES! Thank you so much! Confirmed that the correct location for CWGGVFZG is 0x10005, not what was recommended above.  VSS is back and boost by gear too, all over CAN.

On a side note, the Boxster Bosch ABS 5.7 unit sends out the same addressed and coded CAN message as what the 551M expects. I love how much overlap there is amongst the auto manufactures at that time.
