Hello,

I couldn't think of a better subforum to post this into. A friend of mine recently touched battery + to the ECU case and killed it, as expected. The car is a 2015 Octavia VRS 2.0 TDI with an EDC17C64 0281018498. I opened it up, fixed the melted pins of the connector and powered it on with an amp limit of 0.3-0.4A. It consumed too much current so I started looking for a short - I found a blown 1206 cap and a R015 resistor next to BUK9237 and STTH1002. I ordered the blown components and will be replacing them. In the meantime, would anybody share the resistance reading between +12v and GND of a similar working ECU? I suspect that there are more shorts on the board as the mentioned resistance reading on it is 8.5K.

Yes, I will be cloning the ECU to a working donor one, but I want to try and fix this one just for fun.

Thanks in advance Smiley
