in deed, that looks loads better on map now. so im very new to the just adjusting the map but how do you go about finding the location of all the maps in a file with no proper xdf?

Well, it's not as hard as you'd think. If you know what the map you're searching for looks like, or know it's location in another (similar) bin, just browse to the location and take note of the data surrounding it. Search for the same patterns in your bin. Most maps from similar bins look identical, as does the data surrounding them. It's a trial and error thing (short of disassembly, which I am not good at yet).

does anyone know the map address of CLATEVE and CLALDPE on the mbox? i think this might help me get rid of one of my fault codes.

thank you, will give them a try. i did try and search but it came up with 3 hits and no locations. i take it they are 8 bit?
