just sharing what i have found, i can flash 1.8t file to vw 06a 906 032 2.slow ecms and they will run 1.8t and function as 1.8t. and vise versa .  have not tried 2.7 ecms due to having narrow band or any v6 ecms to 1.8t, but i know the passats with 4d0 ecms will run off a 06a ecm with 1.8t software.

i think as long as it has drive by wire and wide band o2 they can interchange with immobilizer defeat.


this may make cheaper options to acquire ecus because 2.0 ecms are really cheap and abundant.

I cant find a 06A 906 031 HS. my question is can I use a 06A 906 031 Hf (auto trans) if so what would I have to do other than Immo? or what other ECU's can I use?

i would say if the hardware looks them same in the 4b0 906 018 ecu as in the 8n0 906 018 and they are both 4 cyl, narrowband, and dbw then id go for it.   i have a 4b0 ecu but i dont have a 8n0 to compare. 

corey...can you try to flash this file into the 4b0 906 018 ecu?and see if vag-com connects to ecu?thanx!
