Android tablet!

Generation 1 immo.

Well yes the suggestion was to find the 7pin code for the vagcom ware and speak of the devil I'm right now trying to use it (and can't), I've got to writing the"input" for boot up but can't envision it working, somehow command prompt puts it into boot program_ its the writing bit it doesn't understand.....

C:\users>documents\vw\me7_95040.exe __OBD _r _p <com1> eeprom.bin

Huh?not known read write option specified..

We get as far as me7.....and after that can't do the written bit even the eg in the program. How its going to know to use it at boot Huh?

MY GOD!!
Isn't it enough that I have vagcom, elsawin, workshop manuals internet threads...more!?!
The more the merrier

What  instruction will retrieve/ READ the code with me7? I know it can write but I'm not up to that.
I've tried a few versions but getting command prompt to run the program at boot (with or without vcds) seems to be the stop. SCHTASKS. Running the exe program flashed a black square whilst vagcom was on...? All these have no result and are suggested to work on the forum, Failing that my reason for reading is that vag reports the vehicle cannot start due to the immo stops starting INTERMITTENTLY, it does start however. Problem with the immo? And car runs rough.

Oh is that the vagtacho the program not the cable.OK Thanks

vagtacho may work on immo1, me7_95040 will only work on motronic 7 ecu's (not a 2.0 digifant).

> I've tried a few versions but getting command prompt to run the program at boot (with or without vcds) seems to be the stop.

me7_95040 does not need to be run at boot. When people say 'boot mode' they are talking about the ECU.

> Running the exe program flashed a black square whilst vagcom was on...?

Open a command prompt then run the program. Do not run it while vagcom is on, only one program can talk to the lead at a time.

Reading the SKC wont help. Probably a faulty immobiliser pickup ring (around the ignition switch). $20 from vw. Might be a dodgy power/earth feed to the immobiliser box.  How quickly does the fault code come back when it is cleared?

> And car runs rough.

Unrelated to immobiliser. Change your spark plugs/dizzy cap/rotor arm/vacume pipes.

> Oh is that the vagtacho the program not the cable.

vagtacho is a program and a cable with special drivers. Make sure your antivirus is wound up to the max, my PC hates vagtacho. Dont think reading the SKC will help you any, so I wouldnt bother.

You're welcome, have a nice day  Smiley

 Roll Eyes
He he................(thanks for not throwing a watermelon at my head)

....won't work.....ECU boots...one at a time.....needs 7pin codes/keys read it....black ring....change sparkys and everything, ahuh don't I know it.......huff puff whew!

OK the whole thing! Yeah The whole course of events starts with the starter not starting intermittently  (but I fixed that with a new ignition sender thingy) the idle will nearly stall 2-3 times every minute! (NB intermittantly) Then run rough like a juddering engine sounding like a bag of s****t and return to normal, stall whilst driving when the foot is off the accelerator (intermittently) so I'm not so surprised to hear swap everything over cos that's exactly happening.
The vag first time said nothing of any immo prob, (another session) then said it had the fault but no intermittency then whilst running car says the same WITH intermittently all after clearing, recently it stays no faults after but will be present again next day start up.
For as many associated faults it may be just the fuel filter but as for reading it and maybe getting a good diagnoses without involving the intermittent whatever it is may be a case of only narrowing it down. I say that because the vw boys had the computer checked over night and they can't find it (flush $200). Which part is it, hardware or software, well, those codes would be handy getting into it.
One post had these symptoms but they didn't finish with a fix and they had changed just about everything near the end, I'm going as far as injectors before it gets the engine hauling out at the shop and even then an engine change is more on the cards!.

Unrelated to the engine probs from the immo is a surprise !!
