Hi Guys

I will use my old chip in a other ECU( old ecu damaged by wather)  but see at the pictures  there is another chip behind

the socket  , in the new ecu I will make the socket direct on the mainboard.

Question, what is the function of that extra chip and can I do the 29F400BB  mount

in a new ecu with a sochet directtly on the mainboard of the ecu

thanks

You can't just put the chip on the main board. The data needs to be decrypted by the secondary chip on the riser board if you want to use the data that is on it.
