I have a dumb ebay cable that I use to talk to my 2002 Allroad. A while back I managed to dump the Eeprom from 2 clusters with this cable and Vag k+Can 1.4 but now if I try, the files look like garbage. The instrument clusters show up with the right VIN and Immo IDs. When I tried the key learning feature, it erased the keys, so I would say that the software is communicating with the cluster but the dump it makes has increasing numbers in them (see attached file). I use a Win7 laptop. Argdub's soft had no issue getting into my ECU with the cable, Vag-com works just fine and the instrument clusters work in the car.
I am looking for ideas as to how to make a good readout from the Eeprom (with Vag K+can or some other software that would work with my plain old cable). Thx.
