Hello I'm getting a little frustrated trying to figure out what's going wrong with reading my ecu in boot mode. I have a bench harness hooked up to a pyramid ps3kx power supply creating ~13.8 constantly. I'm using nefmoto with a galleto 1260 cable and jumping the eprom pin 24 to ground during startup. I try reading with nef and keep getting this error script.

31/Jul/2015 01:00:22.907: LOG: FTDI device info - Description: EOBD2 Serial Number: 47514789 Device Type: FT_DEVICE_232R ID: 0x4036001 Device Flags: 0x0

What could possibly be going wrong? I already tried using ~12.3 volts from a different power source. Thanks in advance!

What year/make/model engine type is this? Did you try reading via OBD yet?

NEF does not support boot mode.

The ecu is from an 01 auto 2.7 a6 I'm trying to prep the ecu for my 2.7 swap into my b6, so I can't hook it up the donor car and make any standard kwp read attempts. I was under this impression that the nefmoto software supported boot mode from all that I've read and the fact that it has boot mode options. Are there any other options  software wise that may work? I'm just trying to write a new manual non immo .bin file to the ecu.
