In it to win it !!

Greetings all.

I have recently changed my name here from Rubiks tuner to a better suited Rubiks tuna.

I joined thinking I knew more than I do, I have come to realise that not only do I have a lot to learn but that which I know and
have already learned is a mere drop in the ocean to the knowledge many of you lads have not only in this area but in fundamental
points like hex, basics of any programming and years of having done all this and I take my hats of to all those who I have seen helping others whilst I have been reading all the threads regarding bosch motronic m383 & m382 for the 1.8t even though many are not even working on or with it.

The time I have spent here has been mainly learning about acronyms, finding software for my needs, learning to log and creating a graph from these, trying to understand Winols all while trying to make sense of the mapping on my 1.8t 06A906018R ecu through reading others progress with their own projects in an attempt to work out if my car is mapped already and prepare for the future when I focus rather on the power output as opposed to the mechanical state of the car.

As a family man, with a history of personal vehicle maintaining I undertake all work to my car on price but with a mind for only doing the job right or once.

This is now complete enough (car side not learning),and although I have plans to maybe transplant from the golf platform on a '99 (poor body condition), to a very well kept '00 Bora or Jetta as you guys probably know it I now find myself looking at retaining the 1.8t agu but maybe at the same time convert to a wideband setup after reading here its the way to progress as a learner by using an me7 platform ecu.

I at least have the ability to mechanically achieve this as well as the wiring background and I feel I then have a snowballs chance at finding the info for mods and upgrades as I go. Sounds simple, I do know it will not.

From what I have seen that will let me at least allow me to use this forum properly and be able to also contribute as a learner as I would be in effect working in the same flow as others albeit from the bottom still.

I don't post often at all as I have not found a point I have felt able to ask a question without sounding stupid, but then I spent half hour trying to upload a photo of the pcb of my ecu into a post and gave up realising I still have basics to learn with forums and spent half hour scratching my head in the SMF user help area meh lol.

I have invested unwisely in the cheap kkl and vag commander copies from fleabay and struggled, follow the threads and use the links around on here as I shall now soon, will add to the section when I do. I have spent too much time reloading drivers and fiddling around as opposed to being confident in my software and hardware.

Just wanted to say mainly thanks, Tony, Nyet, DDillenger, ElloitRoyano, Kompressed, PVL, Overspeed, Nokiafix and TTQS + I am sure many more that have taken the time to share their thoughts here, and in other places also so I see !!

I am still here honest lol, my name has changed, I have loved learning here and intend to remain but with mixed thoughts at present on my exact direction.

Best wishes. Mark
