I've been looking at files here and there and trying to under stand how everything works in the me7 platform. Now i wanted to start playing around with my stock file. Im using galletto 1260 clone, and know i need boot mode, but is this a benchtop only kind of thing, or can it be used while the ecu is incar?

I have the female obd connector, and can make pins that slide onto the ecu pins, but i didn't want to go through the trouble of making the harness if i didn't need to.

You can do it in car (its a bit tricky), but you're probably better off doing it on the bench.

That ebay cable should work. Or if you have amazon prime, and are impatient, you can order the one from there and get it shipped to you quickly. I liked the quality of mine.

^^^ Link from there. It isn't making a harness, its opening up the ECU to get to the pins.

Yea once i realized i had to start putting switches and playing with pins i changed my mind. My spare ecu is already open and i have the 95040 out to delete the immob, so i wouldn't mind there, i just don't want to pull my daily driver ecu.

Do you have a link the the amazon cable you have. the ebay one i listed is close to me so shipping shouldn't take long, and its cheap, but idk how well the quality is. Im looking for cheap but decent quality Huh

Mine was black however.

I will tell you, with certain advancements due to a forum member, you should be able to just flash that immo right off.
