Hi people Ive bought an ols300 and plan on using on 2.5 VW T4 edc15vm.

I'm told that to live tune/change on this i will need to disable the checksums, i dont know where to start with checksum disable is there anyone able to assist with this?

thanks

Hi, do you have already test it with standard chks correction in ols?

I use it on another ecu without disable chks and all is fine (only a quick reboot ecu when change data...)

You need to put ecu into test mode(from eeprom) and i suppose the same test mode applies to edc15 as in Me7

Look for CWNOROMCHKRESET as well in your definitions.

The test mode on me7 is on page 1 and page 2 of the eeprom and if you post i can see if it could be done on edc15
or search for (in hex ) the values  69,C1, and A5.

If you search a bit in the forum you will find this method that was posted from other members.

I never worked on this, CWNOROMCHKRESET is not part of EDC15V defintions AFAIS Sad

This seems to be equal to ECD15:
CS-test will start while initialisation and then goes on with a periodical backround test

AFAIR in MSA12/15, there was only a intialisation test and no backround test. So after ones CS-test pasted, you could chance every bit of flash without CS-error

So IMO you need to switch of periodic backround test..

Here you find the same "problem":

on edc15p or vm, to disable "live" checksum, put "3d d3 3d d3" instead of "c3 c3 c3 c3" at address 0x70b76 (or 60b76/50b76)
, on msa15 at adress 0x38B76.
When you mod this, only the checksum at motor start must be exact, the checksum verification when motor run are disabled.

Hey Guys Thanks for the input.

I looked for the C3 C3 C3 C3 and can see these within ecu sw but when I changed it didn't make any difference, After making so many changes the ecu or should I say the ep2 needs a reflash to bring it back to life.

I will try and look in the file now that ive got some time away from ols300.

really appreciate the help guys.

Think maybe seen as this uses the syncblock 5XXXX that maybe the C3 C3 C3 C3 at 58B76 is what we need to change, will try it and report back.
