If you just what to know the result of your tuning, you are right.
But if you want to applicate to a specifired output torque and power (e.g. 260Nm plateau up to 4500rpm) you need to set filling and ignition correct.
For this, one way is to recalculate internal torque model of ME7, and set the values based on internal troque model.
Other way is a 1000nt time try-and-error application, based on rpm/time data measurement..
