Reply with Quote Modify Here’s what I’ve found out. The cluster that had been replaced is reporting the wrong VIN. I sent everything to k0mpresd here on the forum and he got me back up and running originally but my son lost the only key we had and now can’t program anymore. The login code works for the ecu but not the cluster. The cluster reports a different vin and immo id. Can anyone please help me, I’m out of options!!!

BTW, it’s a B6 with the immo off. Car starts and runs but cluster still screaming at me.

If it's immo off it'll need to be turned on before it can be adapted.

Gotcha. Would immo off be the reason I can’t even log into “instruments” or is that some other problem? Would the vin and id not matching in “instruments” be a cause for concern or no? If not, do I simply need to read the eeprom, turn immo on and re flash, then do adaptation? Is there a dummy post in here somewhere that shows what to change for immo off?

Okay, so I think I somewhat understand. I can't log into the cluster because it was never adapted to the car and therefore didn't take on the SKC of the car. The issue is, how to I find the SKC of that cluster? Then I'm assuming I: 1) Use eeprom_04 to read/write the eeprom and turn the immo back on. 2)Log into the cluster via the new skc and adapt to car. 3) adapt keys via the old skc which should now work to log into the cluster. I know that's oversimplifying, but is that the jist? Would someone be able to help me turn the immo back on if I post the .bin?

If possible (i've not done a B6), read cluster using VAG EEPROM Programmer. This will give you the cluster's SKC. Read (in bootmode, because you'll need it later on) the ECU EEPROM. Use Argdub's tool to enable IMMO and correct checksums. Use Argdub's tool to print new EEPROM to verify A) IMMO is on B) SKC Write (in bootmode) your new ECU EEPROM. Use Rosstech's guide to adapting the cluster to the ECU, since you have to code keys as well.
IIRC it's: go into Instruments, login (cluster SKC from EEPROM Programmer), channel 50, it'll ask for ECU SKC, channel 29, number of keys. Save, close, wait 1 minute for VIN to exhange.

Adam, thanks for the step by step. Just to confirm the ArgDub tool--me7eeprom 1.40? Also, when i used Vag eeprom to read the cluster last night, the only way it would read it was the Bosch encrypted method. Not sure why. However, I did realize that when I turn the radio(aftermarket) OFF, it doesn't even read that way. Perhaps there is a Kline issue, IDK. Anyway, thanks for the help..
