Hello folks,

i just looking for a tool, which can read an write the DSG of 2011 GTI. I read on the internet, that the Kess c-l-o-n-e should be able to do this. You need a additional 20-Pin-Connector to read direct on the TCU. After the direct read it should be able, also to write through the OBD-Port. Is it true?

Did someone some reads an write on a 2011 DSG from a Golf 6 GTI? How to handle kess and dsg?

Alternatively better but Mini-DSG-Reader?

What are your experiences and what will you prefer?

MiniDSG reader definitely wont work on that. Kess probably will read earlier models. Use OEM tools and  you will find almost all of them can read this.

Kess V2 CL can read/write my 07 DQ250 via the OBD port.

I imagine going directly through the TCU would work on yours.

Buy a tune and use vcp/odis will save you from trouble with your clone.

Thank you for your reply’s!

I’ve tried yesterday to read with 5.017 and 2.53 through the OBD-Port, but wasn’t possible.
So that I grab some wire's, connector's and a Switch. I take some of the cable work from the Internet and build one of this DSG DQ250 „direct cable's“. And see there, is works fine!

So know I have the directly read from the TCU and can workout my stuff on the DSG and also do my internal developments. Because I have tried for now 4 DSG tunes and all of them was rubbishy!!! Every tune had his good points but the last one was not really able to figured out, where are all of the torque limiters, so that my stage 2 Car was only put 395Nm. The ECU brings something around 440Nm.

I also drive mostly on the race track (Salzburgring and Nordschleife) with the car and I don’t need only super fast gear changes , I need a package in general, with is really custome tune not only increased shift tables and times.

That is the reason, why I actually ask this question above! So I will tray to write the File back through the OBD-Port and will see, what if it works and what happens. If it doesn’t work, I will write it back directly on the TCU with additional DQ250 cable.
Last but not least, there is also a Original VCP in house. ODIS 5-1-6 is also avaiable.

I will post my results. But maybe there are other petrolheads, with have tried and can report some to this. I will also put the ID from the read.  Smiley

As i said, KESS can`t read Tricore based mechatronic unit at least not this version of mech.

Did you win with this? I am looking at getting the Kess V2 clone to read and write my dq250 in my 2005 3.2 TT as I am going turbo on it.

Currently going through the process of translating a damos which I can hopefully use to get my head around tuning Huh

Let us know if you managed to write back to the TCU, would also like your wiring diagram you have used to connect the KESS direct to the TCU. I have seen diagrams, but would like one that has actually been used successfully.

Hi!

To me reading and writing DQ250 (02E....) worked fine servery times up to now. So checksum correction is also done properly done by the clone. OBD writing is not applicable.

It wont work with MQB DQ250 i think! Better do not try!

Somebody tried this with DQ500 already???

kess clone 2.53 reads / writes dq250 cxx on several cars now without any issues via obd port. also checksum is not needed from what I know on this kind of files Smiley

tried on 2x mk5 gti's, 1x a3 8l dsg swapped, and 1xpassat Smiley
