It's very difficult to find any information on this:
If I have the original A3 2.0T DSG read from the 02E 927 770 AE mech unit, can I just flash that file onto say an 02E 927 770 AD or AT mech unit? Is there another part of the file other than the 448 (Kess read) or 418 (Mini DSG read) file that needs to be flashed to the "new" box?
The Mechatronic has a P1746 Transmission Solenoid Power Relay fault that only occurs when warm, which is apparently unrepairable, so I would like to copy over the coding from the AE unit to another compatible part number.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
P.S can KESS read the full file when connected directly to the gearbox? I've only tried over OBD.

I am not sure if this will work because kess has only 1,5mb files. x17 bench will read 2mb out of these older Cxx and its cloneable. odis or vcp will work too, maybe

you need mag pro for cloning.Nothing else can actually clone the ecu.Or you just use a different sw in your gearbox.

Those don't need anything for cloning, other than a full file flash. no immo in the TCU.

My original file is: 2006 Audi A3 2.0TFSI BWA Motor DQ250 CXX SW: 02E300043C 070 1110 HW: 02E927770AE v069111002EA The 'New' Mech unit is: DQ250 CXX SW: 02E300043K 081 1302 Rev: 04508010 HW: 02E927770AE v0696G0202EA Which I believe is from a Seat Leon 2.0TDI BKD, so I would need to recode the Mech unit to the gear ratios / limiters normally associated with a petrol turbo car. My real question is can I simply flash the file that I read from the 043C box to the 043K box or will that result in an EEPROM/FLASH mismatch? Both the original and files from the new mech unit are attached below.

All you need is to flash 02E300043C 1110 in your new mechatronic and that's all done. Nothing else

To close off this topic, I took the advice given above and it worked, thanks to all who contributed!

Hi. How you flash the file? Kess, odis, VCP? I talked to magicmotorsport and they said: x17 would't clone DQ250C, only map read/write.

ODIS/VCP should work. On DQ250 Cxx I only use Byteshooter, it's the most solid tool out there for those. Shame Magicmotorsport really show how much they know about these TCUs here... I mean NOTHING.

Do Byteshoter this on the bench? or obd? When I want do this by vcp I must have some file? I think The odis and vcp dont read file, only write. Am I wrong? Otherwise we talk about flash or eeprom?

Can Kess clone be used?
Only if you are a pro with real kess. It does have a menu for the dq250. An amateur with a clone would be crazy to f around unless you have a tuner friend on standby

My KESS menu has nothing about the eeprom. I spoke to someone who used a clone and bricked the tcu half way through the upload. The dealer ended up putting a new mechatronic$$. You can get clones of real tcu tools but they tend to be expensive and still a risk. Its best to practice on a spare mechatorincs first.
