Hello Nef Community,

Im planning to run larger Turbos, so I will hit the max Reedings of my MAF-Sensor (RS4 499mg/s).
What is the best workaround?

In my opinion there are 2 possibilities.

1) Get Larger MAF Housing and adapt the Values.
2) Run Mafless with all the Disadvanteges.

Mafless was discussed in another Thread and it ended up that its not the best way when you just disable the MAF and only use ONE MAP Sensor before Throttleplate.

In other Threads i have read that its no problem to get more than 700hp with stock MAF. So anyone has a clue for me?

Thanks !

a) Try an even bigger housing (but low load accuracy suffers and packaging is different)
b) Run two MAF's and add the values, needs small code patch in ECU
c) Run two MAP's and custom code in the ECU, harder to tune.
d) Run alpha/n - if it's a 1/4 mile only car it's very viable.

But I'd say, first try to max out the stock MAF...
Also it's g/s not mg/s.

Thanks for that fast answer!
Okay. So the larger Housing ist the first and easiest way as I would suggest. I'll go that path.

Yes, but the car might not run nicely at idle and low load anymore. The RS4 MAF is already on the very limit.

You should have no idle issues with a properly designed 85mm MAF

The RS4 is 90mm-ish, unless you mean ID.

RS4 maf housing ID is 83mm

Been using 90mm ID housing with rs4 sensor without issues

ah sorry, my mistake, for some reason i thought rs4 was 80mm ID.

yes, 85mm won't be enough if you are already way over the RS4 limit.

apologies.

I have had good experience up to around 95mm, at that point, things sort of go to hell.

Even 85mm can be problematic if you do not have an airbox and are running one of those retarded cone filter intakes.

On a 4 cylinder it goes to hell far earlier.

But OP probably does not even need a bigger MAF.
He hasn't even maxed current one.

As I said I'm planning to run bigger Turbos. And I like to be prepared before I'll do the step. So at first I will max out the RS4 maf and then I will take a closer look =)
Thanks for the hints!
