You need to reflash the ecu, its auto only or manual only software versions. So you can not just recode manual to auto, you need to reflash the ecu with a auto 5 speed file and to work semi proper it needs to software tweeks like vss from abs at the minimum. The 06A906032HF version is normally a good file to start with, its from a 2002 awp auto 5 speed

That's what I figured... thing is the 1.8t I have in the car isn't stock... ecu has a tune from malone tuning on it. Would I need them to redo the tune for the new software?

Also with the print out above. First section. Abs doesn't even see the trans. Is there a way to fix that?
Also can I drive the car with the current issues? Atleast for a week or two while I fix the issues.

will the tune still work with the trans coding changed or will it need to be adjusted? bascially after reflashing auto can i just reload current tune and be good?

A manual ecu can not be coded to auto. You need to make the manual ecu a auto ecu, you do this by reflashing the ecu to auto using the appropriate software version. After the ecu is flashed to auto then the eeprom will accept soft coding for auto 5 speed. The tune you have now is no longer any use to you, it will not work with the dsg trans at all in any way, it does not have the logic for communicating with a transmission controller. If you really want the tune you can port the calibrations form your original file into the auto. However, seeing the questions that you are asking and the lack of understanding this will not  be an easy task for you.
If you are looking for a ready to flash solution for a dsg conversion you can download it from here https://instatune.sellfy.store/p/2001-2005-aww-awp-18t-dsg-conversion-file/
