Hey guys!

I've noticed that in a D and an M box file the primary timing maps are kind of different and I was wondering why. Fuel quality differences?
I am only asking this because I guess I am not the only one who is using an M box file in Europe.

You can check http://blade2k.humppa.hu/KFZW.html which shows both of the tables from both ECUs.

But different power rating shouldnt influence the maps, because they are load related.
I did also wonder, because of the m box beeing more aggressive with timing. Then I think in europe the fuel quality (at least in germany) is quite good (up to 102 research oktan on pump gas).

So I think this might be, because The european s4-boxes (D and G of late 2001 euro S4s) doesnt have the knock regulated enrichment. Kflamkr and - krl are all set to 1.
The M-box uses this safety feature, so base ignition angle can be more aggressive because of the ability to work against knock with further enrichment.

KFLAMKR   on adress 18Deeh
KFLAMKRL  on adress 18E12h

I think there the maps should be located for the dbox. G Box there is a asap floating around here somewhere.

Regards
Andreas
