at first: Sorry for my english. I am from germany and i were never in USA or UK...so never speaked english....only learned it in school

A friend asked me to make his Golf mk4 a bit faster. He said its a AGU 1.8T and was build in 99.

I Have a 1.9TDI. And i tunded my car. So i have experience with tuning of Diesels, but i never did something with Petrol engines.

I also know, that no one really likes to say how they make the "tuning". ....thats my experience from the german tuners.

But i still ask here for a bit of help.
How to let the turbo make more boost and how to get the right lambda....also how to set the ignition.

In my opinion the EDC15 ECUs are much easier to tune..... Maybe i am wrong...just because i never did something with the 1.8T.

I have a VAG KKL cable.....and i will buy a MPPS....but should work with the KKL cable...as i read.

And Again....sorry for my english....if something is written wrong...and you dont understand me, i could try to explain it another way.

i believe your friends car uses a bosch me3.xx controller. try reading this http://nefariousmotorsports.com/forum/index.php?topic=2013.0title=
and also search the forum. the older bosch controllers are covered a bit on this forum, but basicly the me7.

also have a look on the s4wiki (google it!) that will give you an idea on how petrol car controllers work (at least on me7, but still good read)

Edit: can see that 1999 is about the year they came with me7. dont know which one i fittet in your friends. have you read out the binary?
