"you sir are an animal"

« on: August 20, 2013, 03:40:17 PM »

I've been scratching my head over this since Friday.

So I went for a ride with a new ecu for about a half hour drove like a dream. Park it, then the next day I go to leave and make it about a half mile from my house and she(this one's a lady) shuts down on me. I have her towed, scan for dtc's and get jl207, replaced it. Still no start, realized I forgot to do the TBA so I try to do that and I just get error. Even with this car powered from a running car.

I've got loud clicking from my injectors when the key is "on", a slight whine for a few seconds from the TB, and I can't connect to the ECU while this is happening. To connect with VCDS I've got to pull to ecu relay, click connect, then replace the relay.

This is what I'm looking at:

realized I forgot to do the TBA so I try to do that and I just get error. Even with this car powered from a running car.

I've got loud clicking from my injectors when the key is "on", a slight whine for a few seconds from the TB, and I can't connect to the ECU while this is happening.

Not sure what the question is. Start by pulling the TB and making sure it is ok Tongue

Might want to start thinking about addressing some of the other 3 billion codes too.

Fixed, yeah I'm getting around to the rest. I don't really have the time to just bang it out, so an hour here, an hour there. It'll get done.
I ended up cleaning and tightening some grounds. Just about all of them..
A few were a little over finger tight. The ones on the firewall under the coolant res. were almost off, that's the last time I pay somebody in beer I'll tell you what. What's with the ugly brown grounds anyway? Are those really factory?

I removed and cleaned the TB, replaced the gas pedal as it was original to the car. Although I think polishing the brackets that hold the engine cover is what did it... Haha, Thank you for your time man, it is greatly appreciated. This thing was smashed, then submerged, and I think smashed again before I got it on the cheap. Tossed a few grand at her and she's a beast yet again!
