Hey all,

So I been a lurker on the site for some time now and its time for me to post because I can't seem to find a solution. I picked up a ecu (8E0 909 518 AF) as a spare in my 03 A4 1.8T AWD AUTO/Test cars. So I can play with the ecu without IMMO so I can plug and play between cars. I used ME7_95040 to Read the Eprom for the 95040. I put it on my test bench and threw the ecu into boot mode. I used command

m37_95040 -b9600 --bootmode -p 2 -r95040.bin

and I get uC identification response =0x00. Unknown ID.

Do I need to install a new 95040?

Thanks in advance for the help.

1.31 is relatively straightforward. Try this command:

ME7_95040 --bootmode -rp2 518AF.bin

Thanks ddillenger I used the command and I still get the same error. See the attachment.

When I use NefMoto Boot mode I get this:

I think the eeprom might be knackered like you say.. I had a similar issue on again a 8e ecu I ended up swapping the chip from another ecu and it worked fine...

Thank you littco.. I have some spare 29F800 and 95040 laying around. I will just go out and buy another ecu and clone the eeproms. Thanks again.

Ah, dont mind this thread. Close it by all means. I found out that my 21 pin was not getting 12 volt. I fixed the problem and I got the dump...
