It might be but i believe you will have to immo off the ecu. worse case your car will start run for a few seconds then turn off. you wont brick the ecu by flashing so give it a shot you can alway reload your factory software

You will need to put the ECU in boot mode and modify the EEPROM to immo off the ecu.  You can run the HS file on the DL with no problem (i have done it).  You can flash the file without affecting your IMMO also if you want to go that route.  This all assumes it's not already flashed

thank a lot ! all this can be done with NefMoto ECU Flashing Software ?
I think the DL software is stock but this is a great idea to back up before reading ? using what ?  ArgDub's tool ?

This is easy for immo off ?

I read a lot on the forum before play in ecu, i don't want to do anything wrong. sorry newbie question  Undecided

For boot mode you need galletto you can buy it on eBay for around $10 with the software if also recommend getting vcds lite or vagcom 409.1. Immo off is easy there is a step by step on the later pages of that tread. Also mpps is much more straight forward then nefmoto software an you can pick that up for about $20 on eBay every thing you need to know is right here. On this site

Galletto is good to have, but that's not what you need. You need the EEPROM tool (it's in the forum somewhere) and any Dumb USB cable. Backup the EEPROM before you try to read with nefmoto. I'll see if I can find the immo defeat thread when I get to work that explains what to do. After that you can just read and write with nefmoto.

thank you very much ! I will try nefmoto soon. I don't think I need 15$ ebay chinese flash tool. I don't want to use the easiest way. I want to learn how it work.

For boot mode, I read I need to gnd pin 24 on the eeprom before power ecu. and let it to gnd few second after power on.
I also discovered that some people use 1k resistor between pin and gnd.

you think my blue dump usb 409.1 cable will work ?

That is the correct sequence for boot mode.  no resistor needed for this ECU.  Your cable should work just fine.

I have created what i think is a pretty decent stg 1 tune for this ECU if you want it.  I can also help you get started creating your own.  I'm no expert, but can get you on the right path to a stg 1/2.

BTW -- if you want to keep the DL software (I did), you can use the 032DR xdf thats on this forum somewhere.  Lines up pretty well with the DL ECU.

The resistor is not so much for getting the ecu in bootmode as it is for preventing you from frying something if you touch the wrong pin.

interesting ! If you can give me your decent stg1, I will check that first. In the futur, I will created my own for sure.

I also have a commercial stg2 tune in my summer car, but I don't want to touch this ecu.

Im here to learn, not to try any file on my car. But if you can give me this tune in pm or here I think it will be a good start for me.

thank you and sorry for my english  Tongue
