Security access for vcds and MED9?
« on: June 13, 2014, 09:27:38 AM »
08' BPY Jetta. I'm trying to raise the idle a few hundred rpm to get rid of some vibration because of stiffer engine mounts. Looking with VCDS it asks for a security access code to even look at the adaptation values. So my question is..Does anyone have this security access code, and are they the same for all the MED9 ecu's, and do you know what channel idle adaptation is? I'm attaching the mpps read from this just in case it's in there somewhere. I'm not confident enough at this point to modify the binary to do this, and not sure that mpps clone 13 with calc the sums..

i may be wrong, but i think its a per vehicle/ecu deal. could be the skc code, which could be in the eeprom, but again, just guessing

01283 may work for security access for idle speed adaptation, it works for some m5.9, me7, med9 ecms but not all. I believe its still adaptation channel 1 for those.

Thanks, B. I'll try that and report back.

vcds will tell you the correct login for adaptation and basic settings.

I believe we tried that (using the hover over the field method), but I will try everything once again. Thanks again for all the replies.
