Hello,

I'm new to the forum so please excuse any silly questions.

I was wondering if it's possible to clone a ECU chip by reading it and burning the information onto a new, blank chip.

If so; what hardware and software would be suitable to do this?

I'm specifically interested in doing this to an 1.8t 150 AGU model ecu... so i understand the chip will need to be out of the ECU first (preferable for me).

Thanks in advance,
Your help is greatly appreciated.

Yes it's possoble. With an AGU you will need to desolder the chip and read it in a chip reader.

Thank you for the quick reply.

Do you have any links to where I can buy a suitable chip reader and the software needed to do it?

Once again, thank you.

I just bought a TL866CS including several adapters for under $50 on Ebay.
Very competent tool for little money.

Thank you. Very helpful replies. I'm guessing the chip reader should come with the software needed to read the information and to re-write it?
