Hhopefully I don't make this too long but long story short, I totaled by car and found a cheap car to put my big turbo into. Problem one it has no key or cluster. Not a hot way to start my build. I got a key cut but not programmed. Got the car back together and installed an s4 cluster in and deleted the immo from my ecu. Car started up but I have no blinkers and radio doesnt turn off when the key is removed. Is this because the cluster needs to be programmed to the car and the key? Or is this a wiring issue?

I turned my immobilizer back on and obviously the car starts then dies. So i pulled the eeprom bin and found the skc. Now I go into VCDS and trying to login to instrument cluster and it freezes up and fails? why is this?

Enable immobilizer
Retrieve login codes from cluster and ecu
Adapt ecu to cluster
Match key to cluster

You can get the pin from the cluster using Carprog, Vagtacho, Vag Commander, or possibly with any dumb cable using VAG EEPROM Programmer. I dont think pin from dump on the encrypted clusters is possible....or at least I've never done it.

how have you not figured out how to do a screen capture with windows yet?  ctrl + PrtScn -> paste into paint -> crop -> resize -> save.

Well now I know. Had no reason to take a screen shot until now I guess. My question is how have I not successfully paired the ecu? I have everything and I've followed all the instructions.

I've done my research, The only thing I can think is I need to program the cluster with a new file?
What am I missing?

Well that's true as I'm failing some how. Can anybody see my mistake? Do I need to take a video of the whole process? I want this bad!
Also the miles on the cluster show 01-1 or something along those lines? I havent touched miles or anything?

I looked up on how to take a screen shot with a mac book air on windows 7. The keyboard drivers are weird so this is why I can't actually press prnt screen button on my keyboard as there is no such thing

Find VAG EEPROM Programmer (MHHauto or wherever) and see if it comes up with a different pin....I dont trust vagcommander on RB4 clusters...especially when it comes up with a 5 digit pin for a B6. Vagcommander likes to brick those clusters. If you post the cluster part number, I'll see if I have a virgin BIN to flash and learn like new.

And did you enable IMMO, log into ECU, adapt immo/vehicle data BEFORE logging into cluster?
