Hello! we installed a RS4 ECU into a S4 Year 2000. (because rs4 engine is also installed) after that the rev limiter is set to 6000rpm, no chance to get higher. is there any coding possibility in the instrument cluster? i tried several things, but with no success:-(
many thanks
br

yes map is ok, i tried to tune all revlimit maps, tried stock file and so on, nothing helps. i think the problem is in the instrument cluster..

It's a cluster issue, I have seen it when the ecu is getting a bad rpm, oil or water temp signal. There are maps that determine engine speed on signal errors.

which maps do you mean? the only map i found was the codeword for revlimit, but this deactivates rev limter completely, too dangerous for me.
we also tried to install an rs4 cluster for testing, with this it works. so i am sure as you said, its a cluster issue..

Yes it's the cluster.
Which ECU model is it?

You can solve this by changing tables in the engine ECU.

Do you mean Nmax for VSS signal error?

There is more than one NMAX. There is various NMAX values/maps depending on fault/condition.
